1. Wudaokuo
OF COURSE! Right? Having lived in other parts of China and Beijing itself, I can safety pronounce my favourite place in China -- Wudaokuo <3 Can I ever forget Wu Club, Propaganda, Sensation, La Bamba, Helen's.... (the list goes on) The most perfect place to grow as a Chinese student, with people from all around the world, multiple international restaurants, Wudaokuo is only getting better.
2. Mandarin
Most people come to BLCU with the serious intent to study Mandarin, others to explore the forward culture. There are many reasons one should learn mandarin (Read: Chinese is easy! 3 reasons you should learn mandarin) but honestly, the best parts are being able to converse with the taxi drivers, ordering your food in restaurants and talking to strangers at nightclubs. Noone seems to appreciate these moments where we are able to, so easily, fit into their world and visa versa.

4. Golden Towers
You may have heard of YaShao, The Place and even Silk street (Read: Say Hello to Shopping in Beijing) but not so much of Golden Towers located about 20 minutes walking distance from BLCU. Not only does this place have designated floors to clothes, accessories, shoes and electronics, but the manicures here are the cheapest I've ever come across (10 RMB in 2013). Golden Towers is as good as hidden treasure and a boon for students who don't have a lot to spend but love shopping!
5. Exploring Beijing
Is it even possible to explore the whole of Beijing? This magnificent city has literally hundreds of things for you to see and eat! You could make a short trip to Mongolia, Harbin, Datong, Shanghai and even Hong Kong!
6. Re-inventing yourself
A more non-materialistic reason, coming to BLCU, makes you open up in more ways than one. Meeting new people and seeing new places gives you the opportunity to evolve, while also giving you time to be by yourself, giving you ample time for introspection and reinvention.
